José DAOUDAL was born in 1954 and began painting at the age of 20, inspired by the works of Pont-Aven painters such as SAVIGNY, COULIOU, MORINAY, and many others.
In the late 1990s, he discovered pastel during an exhibition featuring the magnificent work of marine painter Jacques COQUILLAY. It was a revelation — from that moment on, he knew he would become a pastel artist.
Painting exclusively outdoors, he developed a deep passion for capturing skies and water.
José DAOUDAL is a member of the GRECI MARINO Academy in the arts section and a sociétaire of the TAYLOR Foundation.
