Painting has always been a “sensitive” field for me; a self-taught artist, I have always painted, albeit irregularly, working a bit with oil and then acrylics.
In 2005, I discovered pastels: the pleasure of direct, physical contact with the medium.
For me, the theme of childhood is recurring; I am drawn to humanity in the simplest moments of life: at the market, in the street, on the bus, at work…
When these moments touch me, I first work as a photographer: I “capture” the instant.
When I revisit my photographs, sometimes long after, and that small spark of emotion resurfaces, I take that photo as the starting point for a new painting, where light is what I stubbornly seek to convey…
