Art is not the representation of a beautiful thing, but the beautiful representation of a thing.” Starting from this idea by Kant, I’ve sought sensations in what might not, at first glance, appear to be aesthetic.
One theme eventually imposed itself on me: the city as a natural environment, and the night as both a veil and a mask.
Its fauna and flora, the exhausting night work, the suffocating routine, the moments that let life breathe.
I found myself, in my own way, joining Hopper — drawing on memories and sleepless nights.
Night is light, but differently.
Feelings revealed by light: a world of its own.
Soft pastel became the obvious choice — right at the fingertips, perfect for smoke, fog, and glowing lights…
