It is a great fortune for an artist to find those means of expression, that tool, that material which is organic to their temperament, their “speed,” their motor skills, their need for color or light, for softness or contrast, for details or, on the contrary, for generalizations. Finding this rhyme does not mean that there will be no further searching and resistance, no new discoveries or failures in the future work. But the alignment of the artist’s inner world with the technique of their work is very important. For me, pastel became such a magical material.
