Judith Cullivan

I live part of the year in Ireland where I’ve access to incredible scenery, and part of the the year at my home in the Charente close to Cote Sauvage and the magnificent Ile d’Oleron. I am particularly inspired by harbours and their colourful boats in all sizes and shapes and their reflection on the sea. I’m fascinated by the play of light on colour and form. Although my work is mainly representational, I love how the pastel strokes have an impressionistic quality on sanded paper. Each time I begin a new painting, I learn something new.
