Marie-Claude Jacquemard

As a visual arts teacher in a middle school in the Paris region for 40 years, I have always loved painting. I like to capture in my watercolors and pastels the changing lights, the infinite reflections of water, and backlit landscapes. I let myself be guided by the mysterious play of light and shadow, by the transparent mirrors of water that reflect nature, by the magnificence of flowers and landscapes. Retaining the essential, an atmosphere, an emotion, is the goal I strive to achieve, through my painting from a motif or from my personal photographs. Painting is a long journey and I am always looking for more light and transparency.
