My art, inspired by the world around me and created in dry pastel pencil since 1990, continues to evolve through experience.
The latest development in my craft is BLACK ART: a body of work created entirely on a black background—smooth paper and mat board.
I use the window of the mat as a means to create the illusion of depth, thanks to its thickness, aptly called the “soul.”
My work is a continuous exploration—an attempt to understand and represent what I see, and to spark life in my subjects through shadow and light, textures, and transparency.
This is my artistic quest.
