du Pastel de Berric

Born in Kansas in 194, jacob Aguiar remembers spending countless hours drawing what the saw outside his childhood window. Passionate about the outdoors since a young age, his favorite activities as a child were playing in the fields and woods of rural Kansas. This love of the outdoors is deeply rooted in his self-esteem, and he feels most at home in nature. In 2011, his love of nature and art led him to take a leave of absence to devote himself to his family and pursue art studies. During that year, he traveled throughout the West, studyng with prominent pastel landscape artists and painting outdoors and in the studio. After about ten years of dividing his time between naturopathy and art, he recently retired from his medical career to paint full-time. Jacob is now an internationally renowed pastel artist living in Boxford. MA, with his family. He is inspired by the landscapes of New England an Wyoming. He has won numerous award, including third place at the 2017 Salon Plein Air for Gentle Stroll, and several Pastel 100 competitions. In 2023, with the American Impressionist Society, he won an honorable mention in their prestigious small-format exhibition and first place in the “All Associate Members” category. He has exhibited in galleries throughout the U.S and at the Brinton Museum in Big Horn, Wyoming. Jacob is a Pastel Master of the Pastel Society of America and a Master Circle member of the international association of Pastel Society (IAPS). He is currently represented in various galleries.
